Campaign on maternal and neonatal health issues

The Turkish Ministry of Health has run a nine-month campaign for the prevention of maternal and neonatal deaths by encouraging access to health centres, especially in remote and rural areas. The initiative has enjoyed a large support from all stakeholders from NGOs to local governments, and from celebrities that have helped in delivering the message. As a result, an increase in the number of women turning to health care centres has been observed.
