In 2008 c/o pop notched up 30,000 visitors and 1,000 accredited industry guests from over 35 countries.
With 5 days of music, 20 conference events, 25 venues, 50 concerts, 75 exhibitors and 200 international artists, c/o pop definitively established itself last year as the pop culture festival in Cologne and evolved into an internationally recognized congress for the creative industries. The unique networking project Europareise, which brought over 200 representatives of 70 European festivals from 27 different countries to Cologne, played an important part in making c/o pop the »festival for festivals«.
This year's c/o pop, taking place from 12.- 16.08.2009, has adopted the motto »Pop Culture 2.0« and features a business element (Convention) dedicated to a whole range of new topics, and an even more extensive festival programme.
For Prof. Georg Quander, head of the City of Cologne's cultural department, »c/o pop is the most important institution which Cologne has in the area of popular music. Its ability to attract artists and guests from all round the world shows how internationally well-connected c/o pop now is. What has developed here is extraordinary.«
